Cel shading quality is great. Im really impressed. At par with pencil+ or Finaltoon (in 3ds max). Lineart is fast, eventhough it's not as flexible as Freestyle. However, the fact that it depends solely on CPU, leaves a little room for speed-tuning during render. It takes 2-3 more time to render, compared to using cycles Toon and Freestyle (lowest & acceptable quality render setting). Maybe it's my machine, i guess. Looking forward for this plugin to be ported with GPU rendering ability. 4-stars.

Shaders are awesome and look great. I love how versatile they are and how much flexibility can be pushed out of the main Toonshader. I used this tool kit for a long time and made some stuff that I am very proud of. Implementing GPU rendering would be cool, but I understand the technical limitations. CPU rendering is decently fast anyways; I rarely need to go above 36 samples for a scene.

However, the last two updates broke probably the most unique and useful feature of the entire toolkit - the face paint tools. I can no longer create or edit Vector Color Indexes for objects. The menu is still there, just the options to paint faces are gone. Models with preexisting Color Indexes (created in Toonkit 1.4) can be imported into the new version and work fine, I just can't create or edit new ones.

This has left me stuck on Blender 2.91 and Toonkit 1.4, which is a shame because I would love to use the newer versions of both, but the face paint tools are just too useful for me to abandon. Maybe I'm just missing something, but I would love this feature to be usable again soon.

Korben. You will be glad to know that Toonkit 1.7 released today fix the issues with the Paint Tools and added support to blender 4.x
      Enjoy! ;)

I get error trying to use Optix in Blender 3.5. There are not a lot of videos on the features. I think I‘ve figured out enough but without the GPU support I’m limited to smaller projects anyway.

Hi Jason. Unfortunately, the current implementation of Optix in blender 3.5 is not complete. We can't trace rays using it right now and until blender devs add this missing feature we can't support toonkit on GPU

As other people have written the documentation is useless.
I managed to get some kind of toon shader working by trial and error, but I still get pixelated shadows (which don't show on any video anywhere)
2 months ago the developer answered a comment saying a new documentation was being worked on but still nothing. Honestly whoever knows how to use this could write a useful documentation in less than an hour and packing it in the download section. This is the worst case of non-reliability I have ever seen.

This product needs documentation and updated video tutorials. I bought this product over a year ago and still no documentation or current demos on how to fully use this. I want to do more with this than just put a 1 tone toon shader on a walking tank. Update your content and show us how to fully use the product!

Hi wugun. There's a PDF version of the documentation in your download page and links to free GitHub with dozen of samples. Video tutorials are a nice idea that we can implement in future. Best!

Looks nice , But CPU only is soo slow. I am using a 3090 card so using this is a major slowdown. But again, it looks great !

Hi Arnar. It's OSL based so CPU but the sample count to converge in a noiseless is low as 8! It's blazining fast even in modest CPUs and almost realtime in modern ones. Check the quality profiles in the Toonkit Render properties.

After rolling back to Blender 2.93.0 I still cannot get the Easy Toon node to actually produce anything, the resulting output always being either solid white or black. Even the sample files provided have this issue. Render compute is set to CPU with OSL as required.

The creator's website is down and I don't know any other way to contact them.

Hi MechaDeka. Our website is been reworked from scratch but you should contact us inbox here anyway. We would be glad to help you. :)

Great Add on, very creative and well designed . However, the fact that this add on only support CPU is really for time rendering and export, plus we loose many possibilities without the use of GPU, it's the next step for the next version ( finger crossed for that ), because when you are mixing texturing 3D environnement with " toonish " lines character, the rendering is a long long i mean looooong process. In a time where graphic cards are evolving so fast, come on guys, we need to move on on this.
