  Absolutely mind-blowing results, even with low samples in very short render times! This is truly a game changer! It speeds up my render workflow drastically.
  It's not only about the amazing denoising, which still feels like magic to me - but also about all the other implemented settings which are speeding up the renders and reduce the amount of VRAM needed.

  Plus, the developer is extremely helpful and answers all questions instantly.

  Great add-on! Get more detailed renders faster. Comparing to Open Denoiser 1.4, at the same render time, the detail retention is WAY better. Hopefully this is only the start and this add-on gets better with time.

  PS remember to set a cache file location before using the plugin!

  I am absolutely blown away by how fast this is working ! This is letting me get out cycles preview animations so quickly I can actually iterate in real time. Seriously, this has just completely revolutionized my workflow. Amazing work !

  I bought the addon about 3/4 months ago, I'm not that experienced in Blender Composting Nodes or Blender in general as I only started using it about 1 year ago. I think the documentation is not made beginner friendly - I just have no idea what the settings do exactly, I had a Denoiser Note + Lens Flare in it before e.g. I don't know exactly if I have to delete them now for the addon? Which settings I have to change now or do I have to make the default settings. I have already looked at some tutorials, even 3 years ago, where the addon came out with an earlier version. I honestly have no idea and am a bit desperate and disappointed.

  The results are undeniably amazing, but I can't give this 5 stars for a couple of reasons.

  1) It doesn't actually affect the rendering part of the process; the magic is achieved in compositing. The video claiming that the GTX1070 beat RTX4090 is just not true. Detail retention via compositing is not the same as a head-to-head competition in rendering speed, and when it comes to animation, the 4090 will still win.

  2) Compositing is unfortunately still restricted to CPU processing, and with the amount of work being done behind the scenes by this add-on to create such spectacular results, it can be incredibly taxing on your hardware.

  Even after buying a Noctua cooler just to use the add-on more safely, it can still cause temps to rise above 70C, at least during initialization, which could become a very big and expensive problem if you don't already have one of the best coolers available.

  Once GPU compositing becomes more widely available, I will be glad to change my review to to reflect the extended capability of this add-on.

  Hi, thanks for the review. You're quite right, the addon doesn't give the 1070 gpu the same performance as a 4090, but it does allow it to produce similar quality results in the same amount of render time. This is achievable due the automatic render settings that are designed specifically for Turbo Render's advanced denoising system. Basically it renders faster because it's able to use far fewer samples thanks to the advanced denoising system.

  Regarding the CPU temperatures, I wouldn't worry too much about brief spurts of 70 degrees. A constant 70 to 80 degrees is typical for any intensive workload or high end video games. In the case of Turbo Render, it's far less demanding than that because it only happens briefly at the end of every rendered frame. Good news though, the Blender developers are currently implementing GPU support in the compositor, so once that's available, I'll implement immediately 👍

  I don't mind mind backward compatibility. V4 owners should have been upgraded to Turbo X free of charge. I also had a problem with v4 version for long time, which was a headache so I eventually stopped using it. Add-on responded to my concerns, yes, but he also said it's out of his hands and basically it's Blender developer faults. Could be I don't argue, but when I buy a product i want and I need it to be ready to use at all time. If its broken it doesn't work for me. I give 2 stars for an effort. At this point i have a product that I cant use because I use Blender 5.0. And no I dont need another payment/subscription that expires every year.

  Morning Tomas, thanks for taking the time to review. Because I need to continue updating and supporting V4 until 2027 for LTS users, it was necessary to release X as a new product. The code bases are so vastly different that maintaining them as a single addon would be an unfeasibly mammoth task. To make the transition fair, all V4 users receive a 70% discount on X, or a free copy if purchased within 3 months prior to Turbo Tools X’s release.

  Just to clarify, Turbo Tools is not a subscription, it’s a lifetime licence with 12 months of updates included. You can extend update access for a small fee after that if you wish, but the addon remains fully usable even if you don’t. This ensures Turbo Tools continues to grow sustainably rather than risk becoming abandonware when sales naturally slow.

  Regarding the issue you mentioned, this is actually a rare Blender bug, confirmed by the Blender developers (https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/issues/114455#issuecomment-1753184). I’ve made sure it’s exceptionally rare in practice, and Turbo Tools provides a notification plus a simple two‑click fix to ensure it’s only a minor annoyance. Since the bug can affect all addons, if you notice it more than once a month, try disabling other addons one by one to identify which increases its frequency. Once found, you can share the link above with that developer, in which I’ve shared code they can use to minimize the chance of it occurring.

  I understand that it may be disappointing for some, but updating Turbo Tools V4 to support Blender 5 wasn’t possible without breaking backward compatibility with earlier Blender versions that many users and studios need to continue using. To ensure those users aren’t left behind, Turbo Tools V4 will continue to receive updates and support until Blender 4.5.4 LTS retires in 2027.

  Creating Turbo Tools X as a separate product avoids the challenge of maintaining two vastly different 8,000+ line codebases within a single addon (The Blender 5 API changes were immense!). This approach allows V4 to remain a reliable option for users on older Blender versions, while X evolves alongside Blender 5 and beyond. It also allows me to implement a more sustainable update policy, to ensure the addon doesn’t become abandonware when sales inevitably slow over time.
