Advanced Collection Manager For Blender

Martin Lisen in Rendering

What is the difference between Duplicate Collections and the Variant Matrix?

Duplicate Collections creates new named copies of one collection (new geometry you can edit independently). The Variant Matrix does not copy anything: it takes collections you already have and combines them into every possible combination as ready-to-render View Layers.

Does the Variant Matrix duplicate my objects or make the file heavier?

No. It only toggles which collections are enabled in each generated View Layer. Edit a strap once and every combination that uses it updates automatically.

How many combinations can I generate, and can I check before it happens?

As many as your groups allow — it is a simple multiplication (3 straps × 4 colours × 2 dials = 24). The panel shows the count live, and Build previews every View Layer name before creating anything. Clear removes them all in one click.

Do I need to script anything or set up View Layers myself?

No. Grouping, building and batch rendering are buttons in the Scene properties panel. Render All Combinations even works without building the View Layers first.

I bought the earlier version — do I get V2?

Yes. V2 is a free update for every existing owner: re-download the latest zip from your Superhive library and install it over the old version.

Which Blender versions and render engines are supported?

Blender 4.2 and newer (tested up to 5.2), as an Extension. It works with Cycles, EEVEE or any other engine, since it only drives View Layers and visibility.

  • Everything included: the V2 Variant Matrix (build every combination as View Layers and render them all in one click), Duplicate Collections, the demo scene, and all future updates.
