Can it match mirrored parts?
Yes, if Match Mirrors is enabled (default). Mirrored copies share the source and get negative X scale on the instance.
Will it delete my original mesh?
No. With Hide Original on, the merged object is only hidden. Output goes to Instance Sources, Unmerged Instances, and Unmerged Unique. Clear Previous Results only removes objects from those three collections, not your original.
Are the results real Blender instances?
Yes. Each repeating part gets one source mesh; copies are linked objects (shared mesh data), with location, rotation, and scale on the instances. Edit the source mesh and every copy updates. They are not Geometry Nodes instances and not collection instances.
