Every pass reconnects itself.
You rendered your passes to a multilayer EXR and now you want the compositor to read them from disk instead of re-rendering. Select the Render Layer node and the EXR Image node, hit the shortcut and EXReplace moves every outgoing link across, matching each pass by name even when the two nodes spell them differently. Swap back to live Render Layers just as fast.
This addon is also available for free on kunemann.com. This Superhive listing exists purely as a way to support development — any purchase here is optional, and gratefully accepted.
Select a Render Layer node and a multilayer EXR Image node, press the shortcut and every outgoing link jumps to the other node.
Move a live Render Layer onto a saved EXR to skip re-rendering, or swap the EXR back to the render. Whichever node has the links is the source.
Each link lands on the right output — Image, Depth, Diffuse, Glossy and the rest — matched by socket identifier and name, not by position.
Bridges the naming gaps between the two node types, so Z reconnects to Depth, Emit to Emission and DiffDir to Diffuse Direct.
Set the key and modifiers in preferences. Default is Shift+E in the Node Editor, with a Swap Connections button in the N-panel too.
Also free, always, at kunemann.com.
