Gaudi Topo
Frequently Asked Questions
01Is GaudiTopo the same as Decimate or Remesh?
Decimate reduces polygon count, while remeshing reorganizes topology. GaudiTopo changes where material exists according to repeated FEM solutions and SIMP topology optimization.
02Do I need an NVIDIA GPU?
|
Compatible NVIDIA GPU Uses the preferred CUDA route for supported work. |
No usable CUDA device Continues through the included CPU route, usually more slowly. |
03Can I assign several loads?
Use Force, Pressure, Bearing, Moment, and Remote Force conditions.
- Loads in the same case act simultaneously.
- Different cases remain separate structural requirements.
04What does PASS mean?
The status applies to the supplied geometry, material assumptions, loads, supports, and numerical settings.
05What is Independent Verification?
GaudiTopo re-voxelizes the reconstructed surface and solves a new analysis problem instead of trusting only the optimization field. You can run this automatically after generation or later with Verify Result Mesh.
06Which systems are supported?
| Blender | 4.5 or newer |
| Platform | Windows x64 |
| Acceleration | Optional NVIDIA CUDA |
07Which FDM materials are included?
| PLA | ABS | PETG |
| ASA | PA12 / Nylon | Polycarbonate |
Profiles are screening-grade approximations and should be calibrated for the actual printer, filament, orientation, and process settings.
08What mesh should I start with?
The source mesh should represent the maximum space the generated structure may occupy. GaudiTopo creates a uniform engineering mesh for approval before loads and supports are assigned.
09Why can pre-analysis reject a study?
Common causes include:
- Load and support regions overlap on the FEM grid.
- Preserved regions already exceed the requested retained material fraction.
- The source volume or assigned regions are too small for the selected resolution.
- The study is not sufficiently constrained.
