Why did Geo-C-Thru jump from 2.1 to 3.0?
Geo-C-Thru 3.0 is a complete rebuild around Blender's modern extension format. The preset system, Collection Rules, viewport snapshots, restoration, and update architecture were all redesigned together, so the scope is a major version rather than another incremental 2.x release.
Which Blender versions does Geo-C-Thru 3.0 support?
Geo-C-Thru 3.0 requires Blender 4.2 or newer. It has been tested with Blender 4.2 LTS, 4.5 LTS, 5.0, and 5.2 LTS. Version 2.1 remains available as the legacy release for Blender 4.1 and older.
How do I install Geo-C-Thru 3.0?
Download Geo-C-Thru.zip and do not unzip it. In Blender, open Edit > Preferences > Get Extensions, open the upper-right menu, choose Install from Disk, select the ZIP, and enable the extension if needed. Alternatively, drag the zip file into the viewport and choose install addon.
What is the difference between Bypass and Emergency Reset Display?
Bypass restores only the supported properties Geo-C-Thru currently owns, and Reapply can bring the look back. Emergency Reset Display is a separately confirmed repair action that overwrites supported object display properties and basic Solid-view settings. Use Emergency Reset only if Bypass and Safe Restore fail.
Does Geo-C-Thru affect final renders?
No. Geo-C-Thru changes supported object display properties and 3D Viewport settings only. It does not change your render materials, lighting, or final rendered output.
How do the three preset libraries differ?
Built-In presets ship with Geo-C-Thru and cannot be overwritten or deleted. User Library presets are reusable across projects and do not include scene-specific rules. This Project presets are stored in the .blend file and may include that scene's Collection Rules.
How do Collection Rules choose which rule wins?
The first enabled matching rule wins. Rules higher in the list have higher priority. Because rules point directly to Collections, renaming a Collection does not break its rule.
