  Hello from Japan. I have only just started using this add-on, but I think it is almost perfect. If you want to easily create text animations, I think it is worth purchasing.

  The reason why I gave it a slightly modest rating of "almost perfect" is because there are three problems before rendering (as of May 2025).

  First, to render the motion created with this add-on, it is essential to convert it into a keyframe with "Bake Text". If you neglect to do this, the rendering will definitely fail and Blender will be forced to close.

  The second point is in the "Bake Text" section. If certain conditions are added, the coordinates during animation may be distorted before and after baking. As far as I know, there are two conditions.
  1. When a keyframe is set on the frame mesh (a square frame created when generating text).
  2. When the current frame on the timeline is before the end frame of the text motion you want to bake.
  If you pay attention to this, you will probably be able to bake successfully, but it is a bit of a burden to have to think about additional things in addition to the already essential "Bake Text" process.

  And lastly. It's good that you can render the motion you've created with just "Bake Text," but it takes about 30 seconds to bake one character (this is the time I felt in my environment). I think it's much faster than creating the same movement without this add-on, but it's better to be aware before purchasing that the more text you move in one work, the longer the waiting time will be.

  I've said a lot of pessimistic things, but the process of adding animation itself is very easy to understand, and if you understand and deal with the points listed above, this add-on is very reliable. If you want to add animation to text, I recommend you consider purchasing it.

  Currently the best add-on for quickly and easily adding typography.
  My old workflow was to manually lay-out the text, convert to mesh, and animate with something like ANIMAX.
  With Text Effects I can achieve the same animations, but in just a few clicks and moves.

  Hello thank you very much for rating, I really appreciate it. This help me maintain the tool over time. The first version of this add-on was published over 6 years ago, I'm happy people still use it.

  Absolute life-saver for more complicated text animations.
  Seriously. The time it takes to use this add on instead of without must be 3% of the time. I can actually animate text well and still preserve my youth.

  Before I begin my review, you need to understand why this add-on is really great for me, let me explain a little. Back in Jan 2019 I had a major stroke. I lost all my freelance clients and can no longer work. I have neuropathy in my hands so I look for add-ons that will drastically cut back on my hand/mouse use. I currently can only use a drawing tablet to replace my mouse. So, now I only do Blender as a hobby. Anyways (to shorten the story).

  TextFX (TFX) is a handy addon for motion graphics. This was easy to use in a matter of minutes. Many options help to create various effects easily. Because of the neuropathy in my hands there is no way I could do these effect by hand. 1) It would cause me too much pain; 2) It would take way to long. That is why I love this add-on.

  TFX is great for the specialized thing that it does. if you are a motion graphics artists and/or like to create gif's or use it in a video, TextFX is perfect... Saves lots of time. I highly recommend TFX!!

  This add-on keeps getting better and better, and is great for giving Blender text some animation. The developer is always eager to implement improvements based on user feedback, and his response time is fantastic.
