Your walks, runs and strafes from Blender become a Unity locomotion blend whose feet do not slide: speed and direction measured from the feet, one clean stride per clip, all in step, and the slide measured in the engine.
Setting up locomotion by hand means guessing each clip's speed, typing it into a blend tree, finding where each loop should start so the feet line up, and then watching the feet skate anyway — because a blend of clips does not move at the speed you typed. LocoForge does that work in Blender and checks it in Unity.
What you get
- Speed and direction from the feet — read from how fast the planted foot travels under the body, so clips walked in place and clips that travel are measured alike. On the UE5 mannequin's own clips it reads walk 2.28 and run 4.99 m/s; the blend space they ship with has 2.31 and 5.00.
- One clean stride per clip — the stride (left plant to left plant) that loops best, written as a new action in place, starting on the left foot, so every clip of the blend is at the same moment of the step. Your actions are only read.
- Missing sides mirrored — a strafe that goes only left gets its right-hand twin from the same stride.
- Unity in one click — the clips, an Animator Controller (1D or 2D blend, an Idle state, a pace parameter for speeds below your slowest clip), a prefab, and a mover component: give it the velocity you want and it drives the blend and moves the character at the speed the feet actually play, moment by moment through the step.
Measured in Unity 6
- UE5 mannequin, jog in four directions: a planted foot slides 206 mm per step (worst 1635) with the clips as they come, 20 mm (worst 65) with LocoForge — at points of the blend half way between the ones it measured, and below the slowest clip.
- Walk and run: 57 → 15 mm per step; crouch in four directions: 214 → 16 mm. Generic and Humanoid alike (Humanoid jog 217 → 22).
- Ask the mover for a velocity, and the feet, measured in the engine, go at it within 1.5% (median).
