Overscan Render
Can I use PNG or JPG?
The extra pixels are rendered in any format, but only OpenEXR and OpenEXR MultiLayer can store the data window and metadata.
Why doesn't my F12 render have the overscan embedded?
Embedding happens only when Blender writes the EXR to your output path, with Ctrl+F12 or a command-line render. An F12 render saved through Image › Save As has the extra pixels, but no data window or metadata.
Will it change my framing?
No. The add-on enlarges the resolution and adjusts the camera to match, so everything inside your original frame renders exactly the same as before.
What is overscan?
Extra image area rendered beyond your frame edge. Compositors use it for stabilisation, camera shake, lens distortion and reframing, so the edges never run out of pixels.
