One trick pony with tons of use cases!
- During previs eg. working with animatics, as a quick method to slap on some visual elements, in the very least informative ones.
- During production, as a quick reference image tool, as a decal-spawner or a material making sidekick.
- And in later phases, as a performance fixer for quickly remedying bad choices such as peripheral, poly budget-devouring objects that would look just the same as planar shapes.
Not to detract from its potential as a purely artistic tool, making hybridized 2D/3D-art workflows more nimble.
(By the way. As an Arch Linux user I'll attest that it works flawlessly over here.)

Thanks Valentin, much appreciated 👍
Awesome addon! The only thing I can critique is that for some reason using the hotkeys for copying an image outside of blender (ctrl + c) doesn't seem to work even though it copies it to the clipboard (at least on Windows 11). You have to use the mouse and right click and select copy for it to work. Other than that everything works great and makes things 1000 times easier!

Thanks John. Yes it's often necessary to right click and choose copy as image. I think windows will default to copy as link, which will mean the clipboard doesn't actually contain pixel data. I have the same behaviour on windows 11, so I assume it's normal 👍
This add-on is definitely not for Blender beginners. The concept is brilliant, and the Superhive add-on page claims you can simply copy and paste from a website into the viewport as if it were easy. However, when you actually try it, even PNG images aren't clipped—they paste as they are, with the surrounding areas attached, remaining as square images. Unless you're a user who's done similar tasks countless times, some parts of the process might not click immediately. Superhive's site claims “Paste into pre-configured particle systems to generate landscapes in seconds,” but this is also quite an exaggeration. The GIF animations shown make it seem deceptively simple. In reality, I suspect it requires a fair amount of trial and error. To reiterate, this is absolutely not an add-on for Blender beginners.

Hi Hiroshi, thanks for your purchase and review. The alpha data of png data is preserved, so my guess would be that the image appears to have alpha in the browser, but in reality it doesn't. This happens to me all the time, particularly when they add the checkered background directly to the image to falsely suggest it does have alpha.
The addon will alway hook up the alpha output of the pasted image texture node, to the alpha in put of the principled bsdf, so if the alpha is there, it'll appear transparent in those areas.
Regarding particle systems, the addon doesn't set up particle system for you, but basically you have to set your particle system to get the objects from a collection, and then paste into that collection.
If you need any help, drop me a message, as the addon is provided with full support 👍
Cheers
Michael
