Real Car Driver — Custom Physics
Real Car Driver 4.4.0 — Recorded-Motion Paths
NEW: Collection Mode exports recorded drives to an editable native Blender path. Body orientation, steering, wheel spin, suspension parts and lights retain their native animation. Mesh Mode keeps Direct Animation.
IMPROVED: Cached recording targets, reduced duplicate display work where safe, and bulk native animation export. Export was about 9.5x faster in a controlled 12-object, 1,200-sample test. Performance depends on the scene.
ALSO INCLUDED: Collection-based car and environment setup, optional suspension mesh controls and presets, grass interaction, small-rock interaction, demo cars and a test environment. Demo assets are for testing; use your own prepared vehicles and environments.
COMPATIBILITY: Blender 4.0–5.2. Legacy installation on 4.0/4.1; Extensions installation on 4.2+. Existing recording files remain readable. Passed 88 targeted regression and installation checks.
IMPORTANT: Editable Path is a route plus native mechanical animation, not zero-keyframe animation. Editing a route does not recalculate terrain contact or steering. Record again for physically accurate motion on a different road.
INSTALL: Save your scene and recordings, finish active renders, then install the ZIP directly in a fresh Blender session with the older version disabled. Do not extract it. See the included PATH_RECORDING_GUIDE.md. Use Save Recording before closing Blender; the optional live disk cache defaults off for new scenes.
