ReFace 2.0

Ferasyahya in Modeling

FIXED - Splits anchored to the same split
A split that leaves a parent split and rejoins the same one is now handled correctly throughout. Previously this shape could fail in several ways:
- Display Mode showed nothing at all. A patch containing one of these splits produced no sub-islands, so there was nothing to select or adjust counts on.
- A face was lost about half the time. The enclosed face came and went between otherwise identical patches, with nothing in the scene to explain which way it would go.
- Islands drew and selected incorrectly. An island beside such a split was drawn with straight sides instead of following the split's actual curve. Because Display Mode picks islands from those outlines, the wrong island could take the cursor. The neighbour sharing the route was affected the same way.
- Duplicate splits are now rejected with a clear, consistent warning.

CHANGED - Preview Offset
The Drawn Patch Preview Offset preference now runs from -1 to 1, replacing the previous 0 to 0.3.
- Negative values offset the preview against the vertex normal instead of along it, which handles a preview whose normals face away from the viewer.
- The range now reaches a full millimetre in either direction, for cases where three tenths was not enough separation to clear z-fighting.
- The default is unchanged at 0.15, so existing settings behave exactly as before.

    • Added P shortcut to toggle a live temporary preview mesh before applying the Corner Grid Refill result.
    • Preview updates when operator constraints change, including corners, locked vertices, locked edges, face splits, split controls, and smoothness.
    • Preview uses the same refill generation path as final apply, so preview and committed results stay consistent.

    • Fixed multiple smoothing issues where face splits could allow protected boundary vertices to move.
    • Original outer boundary vertices are now explicitly protected from projection and smoothing.
    • Smoothing protection is applied only after topology generation, so it no longer interferes with face split rebuilding or resampling.
    • Fixed regression where valid split sub-islands could incorrectly fall back to whole-island refill with odd edge-count warnings.

    ViewMode Edge Totals

    • Added connected selected-edge total length display in ViewMode using the existing Σ label style.
    • Selected edges are grouped into connected edge islands, and each group gets its own total length label.
    • Total length is calculated in world space, respecting object transforms.
    • Duplicate Σ labels are avoided for closed-loop totals already handled by existing Show All behavior.
    • Total edge length markers now only appear when Show All is enabled.

    ViewMode Preferences

    • Added Edge preference for Total Edge Length Text Color.
    • Added Edge preference for Total Edge Length Marker Offset.
