Where is my still image saved?
To the Output path in Properties ▸ Output. If that's only a folder, it gets the file name plus a time stamp. With no path at all, it goes next to your .blend.
Does it work with animations?
Yes. Blender writes the frames as usual, and the computer turns off after the last one.
Will an old .blend turn my computer off?
No. The switch lives only in the running Blender session and is never saved into files.
Linux?
It uses systemctl poweroff / systemctl suspend. Some desktops may ask for permission.
Can I just close Blender instead?
Yes. Set When Done to Quit Blender.
