  This is one hell of an addon. A simple concept expanded into a proper functionality of saving properties and/or object states. This makes life so much easier if you know how to work with it. Should be bundled with Blender itself. I hope development and support doesn't stop. Kudos.

  This addon works exactly as you'd expect. It's so much easier to use a snapshot to restore a property of an object or the object itself than to create a backup save and open a new version of the file.

  It's also a lifesaver in those situations when you're deep into your modeling, reach a certain stage, hit Ctrl+Z too many times, and realize that besides fixing one mistake, you've undone progress in other parts of the project.

  The developer is incredibly responsive and always ready to help with questions or suggestions for improving the product.
  I definitely recommend purchasing and using it in your projects!

  There are still some things to iron out, and much to improve, but I think this add-on is a game changer for any artist working on a mid-long project. The ability to snapshot back individual objects and properties is of an immense value. Up until now, I've relied solely on git for the version control of my project, I see Snapshots being a new companion for new ones I'm gonna work on.

  Just be aware that at the time of writing (2026-02-24) not every property is restorable, would still advise to keep a backup around for the critical steps of the project, be this via git, or separate file.

  This was a mind-blowing, and much needed, add-on thanks a bunch for making it!

  At first I was like no way this would work but after trying it I can say this is a must have addon if you revise and edit objects quite a bit. Prior I would either duplicate objects, use shape keys or save the file as a save as, but Snapshots removes that process entirely saving a bunch of headaches and saving. Similar ones like powersave don't compare least to me as cycling through saves can be a hassle and you reload the entire blend file to a previous state vs Snapshots you can pick and choose what to revert so you can keep previous states you liked while keeping newer ones. Some things to note from testing myself saving a snapshot saves a duplicate of the file it seems to go off of. So saving a larger file duplicates it in the .snapshot folder which can be an issue if you are working with larger files and not everything needs to be reverted. Overall in the majority of use cases blend files wouldn't reach to be that large but is a concern with those on larger projects.

  Ryan I'm happy to report that the latest version of Snapshots features Partial Snapshots support for a variety of data types!
