Speedlines FX
Can I use multiple cameras?
The addon targets one active scene camera at a time. For multi-camera setups, rebuild the speedlines when switching cameras.
What happens if I change my camera or resolution after building?
The mesh is baked to the camera frame at build time. If you change focal length, resolution, or sensor size, simply hit ADD SPEEDLINES again to rebuild and realign.
Can I use it with Depth of Field or Motion Blur?
The speedlines are real geometry, so DoF and Motion Blur will affect them. It is recommended to render speedlines on a separate render layer if you need clean compositing control.
What are the emotion presets?
Built-in presets include Rage, Fear, Power, Love, Calm, Sad, Happy, Mystery, Danger, and Supernatural each tuned with a unique color, speed, glow, and line style.
Can I save and reuse my settings?
Yes. The addon includes a full preset Export / Import system. Save your look as a JSON file and load it into any project.
Can I animate the focal point?
Yes. You can pick any object in the scene as a tracking target and the focal point will follow it automatically. You can also keyframe it manually or bake and release the tracking for full control.
Does it work in both EEVEE and Cycles?
Yes. Both render engines are supported.
Will it slow down my viewport?
Minimal impact. The addon uses zero per-frame Python all animation is driven by Geometry Nodes, which means smooth playback even on mid-range hardware. Keeping subdivisions under 100 is recommended for best performance.
Do I need to know Geometry Nodes to use it?
Not at all. Everything is controlled from a single panel in the 3D Viewport sidebar. No node editing required.
Does it work with Blender 4.2 and above?
Yes. Speedline FX requires Blender 4.2 minimum and is fully compatible with the new Extension system.
