Pulse is a feature-packed, quality-of-life and efficiency addon at its roots. It comes from more than a few years of 3D knowledge and practice. There's also a lot of professional design experience behind it, which makes the addon feel clean and simple. It's designed to be useful and easy for users of all experience levels and it's made to make you want to come back into the software rather than feel like you're stuck hitting a wall. It should take a couple weeks to get the muscle memory down but it makes the software more enjoyable to spend time in and you'll work way faster.
This addon includes:
- A user-customizable pie menu, set up like the quick favorites system which supports one level of nested pie menus, custom scripts and icons
- A minimalist Pulse N panel packed with time-savers and useful new features,
- A low profile, yet effective file saving reminder system, some modifier management features
- Close to 39 preset pie menus packed with over 400+ actually useful functions and features; which only use about 22 keybinds and are all setup for the left side of the keyboard so you don't have to move your hand or your eyes. Every pie menu can be disabled too, so you only have to keep the ones you'll use.
- Keybind remapping buttons for every pie menu that ships with the addon in the N panel
- An in-blender note making system which can be backed up and shared to other machines with the addon installed. This might be useful for storing keybinds, sharing direction amongst the team or keeping simple reminders for when you're working on something you're trying to improve
- Features to backup and restore custom pie menus, and in-blender notes
- Color swatches for Vertex ID mapping and quick assignment workflows
- Smart features which make 10 steps, ready to be set in one. for example. you can import a product studio with 3 lights, a camera, a backdrop with some quick and ready adjustments in one click. Similar systems for lights and cameras as well
- A simple and very easy to use material management system, which supports texture slapping with your materials in 3 different ways. There's also a button to import all materials from a selected blend file into your project
- A wireframe rendering mode which is professionally appropriate and quick to jump in and out of
- A new interactive UI to quickly adjust the dyntopo detail in sculpt mode
- and a whole lot more
The addon comes with a keybind profile which resolves the ~22+ keybind conflicts Blender would have with the addon normally. This makes the addon quick and easy to start using. About 5 minutes to setup. One of the hidden benefits of an addon like this, is that with all those 400+ features packed into ~22 keybinds, there's a lot more room on the keyboard for some of those other addons or functions you need to use a lot.
I'm already using this addon in my own work and plan on adding new features and assets to it in the future.
Here are a few of the intended additions in the coming year:
- A pro grade shaderball
- A few UV mapped products like a ramen cup, beer can, cereal box and bowl which could be used to learn, practice or promote real client work — royalty free
- Further develop pie menu efficiencies for the existing pie menus
- New pie menus for areas not currently covered. eg. anything to do with node editing
- An average height human dummy model, simply but reliably rigged for practice and scale reference
- Improved studio presets
- Basic sculpting base meshes
- Some additional links to high quality and free resources like Polligon, Polyhaven, UV checker map makers, and other great resources I've collected over the years
- A video series which covers every feature and a few project based tutorials using the addon to put it all into context.
- Bug fixes and feature requests
