Turn any curve into a twisted rope or an interlocking chain – one Geometry Nodes modifier, fully editable, nothing baked, no add-on to install.

Rope

• 2 to 12 twisted strands, S or Z lay (negative twist)
• Frayed ends with length, amount and seed – or a clean cut
• Works on open and closed curves, Bezier, NURBS and Poly, any number of splines

Chain

• Round, oval or square links (rounded corners)
• Link size, width and wire thickness
• Alternate 90° for the classic interlocking chain, extra twist for spiral chains
• Roll 45° lets a chain lie naturally on the floor
• Links are spaced exactly one pitch apart, so they always interlock; closed curves get an even link count so the alternation closes cleanly

UV map included

A clean UV map ("UVMap") is generated for both modes, seamless on closed curves and on every chain link, so image textures work right away. It is kept when you apply the modifier or export to FBX/glTF/OBJ.

Tested

Headless in Blender 4.2.23 LTS, 4.5.14 LTS and 5.2.1 LTS: 21 parameter cases per version, 0 errors, identical vertex and face counts in all three versions.

Measured polycounts range from 150 triangles (game LOD rope) to 156,672 (36-link chain at Profile 32) – you control it with Resolution and Profile Resolution. Full table in the documentation below.
