Storefront & Signs Generator – Shop Fronts, Enamel, Neon & Projecting Signs (Geometry Nodes)

Tidebone Studio in Procedural Generators

Shop fronts and signs for old-town streets – as two Geometry Nodes modifiers.

Tidebone Storefront & Signs builds the ground floor of a Central European street: stone pilasters, shop windows, a shop door, a fascia board with a sign, an awning or a roller shutter box and a projecting sign on an iron bracket. The sign generator makes enamel plates, light boxes, channel letters, neon script, projecting boards and merchant signs from real text in six packed free fonts.

It fits the other Tidebone architecture tools (optional, sold separately): the shop front uses the width and ground floor height of Altbau Facade and cuts its shop zone out of it; Windows & Doors supplies the door; the Parts output feeds only the plaster to Worn Walls.

Features

  • Shop front (Tidebone Storefront): 3–11 axes, bay width 2.6–4.2 m, ground floor height 3.2–5.5 m; stone pilasters with base and capital, slim axis piers, panelled stallriser, shop windows with transom bar and upper light, mullions, optional arched tops
  • Three styles: Gründerzeit (pilasters, moulded cornice), Jugendstil (arched shop windows) and Modern (no pilasters, slim frames)
  • Shop door: left, centre or right axis; glass door built in (one or two leaves, side lights, transom) or Open Frame for a door of your own
  • Fascia and signs: a fascia board with any of four sign types, text and a second line, plus a projecting sign on a bracket at the left or right end pier
  • Awning and roller shutter: fixed or folded canvas with projection and angle; roller shutter box with a shutter you pull down from open to closed
  • Six sign types (Tidebone Signs): enamel plate with raised rim and rivets, light box, channel letters, neon script (tubes along the letter outlines), projecting board on an iron bracket with scroll, merchant sign (hanging board)
  • Real text: type any text and a second line; six fonts packed in the file (Inter, Oswald, Playfair Display, Pacifico, Bebas Neue, Alfa Slab One, all SIL OFL); umlauts and numerals work; the plate fits the text (Auto Size) or has a fixed size
  • Chipped enamel: a Wear input chips the enamel; rim and letters stay clean; glow switch for light box, channel letters and neon
  • Fits Altbau Facade: same width (Axes × Bay Width + 1.1 m) and ground floor height; the Ground Floor Cutter output and a Boolean cut the shop zone out of the facade (tested with Altbau Facade 1.0.2)
  • Fits Windows & Doors: Open Frame plus the door outputs (centre, width, height) tell you where a Windows & Doors entrance door goes (tested)
  • Parts output: walls only / trim only / windows and details – the three parts add up exactly to the whole, so the plaster can feed Worn Walls
  • 20+ procedural materials (enamel in 3 colours, brass, paint, neon in 3 colours, wood, light box diffuser, awning stripes in 2 colours, plaster, stone, frames), no image textures; asset-browser ready; demo scene; README with input and polycount tables
  • No add-ons, no Python, no image textures. Tested headless on Blender 4.2 LTS, 4.5 LTS and 5.2 LTS: 134 parameter cases each, 0 errors, 0 node warnings, identical vertex, face and triangle counts

What it is not (so you know before you buy): ground floor and signs only – no upper floors, roofs, interiors or street furniture; the room behind the glass is a backing plane; awning and roller shutter are simple shapes without mechanism or fabric simulation; neon is a tube along the letter outlines and glows through the Glow material in Cycles (no bloom effect); text uses the packed fonts and Latin letters; very long text on a fixed-size plate can run past the edge; Letter Spacing below 1 lets letters overlap.

Included: tidebone_storefront_signs.blend (two generators, helper groups, materials, packed fonts), asset catalog, demo scene (a shop front below a wall), README, license (Personal 1 seat / Studio up to 10), FONT-LICENSES.txt.

How it was made (AI disclosure: AI-assisted): the node groups were built by Python build scripts written with an AI coding assistant; the shipped file contains only standard Geometry Nodes and shader nodes. The gallery images are Cycles renders of the shipped file, not AI-generated images.
