Exactly what I needed! Working with several teams that use different 3D authoring software, it's been always a headache to import FBXs into Blender seamlessly. Haven't used it for complex scenes, but for rigged game assets it's been working like a charm.
solved my problem of unit and size problem in UE5 but introduced two new little probleme, 1-> exported animation time is incorect but using UE import animated time feature solved the problem
2-> bind pose not found for all bonne where it was found befor with the blender build in fbx export.
But in the end it far more better than the orginal fbx exporter of blender.
only missing support for auto-rig pro addon...
This is a great add-on. Almost usable.
However, exporting multiple vertex colors is buggy and annoying.
Please support multiple vertex colors and vertex color names.

Very, very good tool, and a clever way of getting around Blender licensing issues by calling an external program via command line to do the FBX conversion work. Effectively two tools in one, with the blender python scripts acting as an interpreter for newly dumped data. Works like a charm!
I've got a few issues still, and that's mostly due to the FBX utility being a black box. Not being able to dig in and fix problems / add functionality is a bummer, and for that reason I can't bring myself to score this any higher than 4. It does what I need, but if I needed more custom utility--like having the exported FBX use the measurement system defined in the scene (i.e. metrics vs imperial), something this tool currently does not do, I'm out of luck, and would probably need to convert the scaling manually via script (which can be a headache). That's probably all I'd have for a feature request though. Regardless, as good and useful as this tool is, I can't bring myself to give 5 stars to a blender tool that's partially closed source, heh.
All that aside, great work, and thanks for saving us headaches!

Yes, it is a bug, I'll fix it as soon as possible, thanks for your catching the annoying bug!
I like this exporter - but it is not perfect. When I export animation it inserts frame with default pose of the rig in first frame, even when animation is baked. Any solutions or fix?

Please check if you have locked all the channels in the graph editor.
Perfectly fix my max to blender issue, I love it. But import speed can be optimized, it took me 15 minutes to import a max scene

Yes, the import speed is not fast, for it uses a neutral interchange format to avoid license problem.
Good Addon, but I encounter some bug.
I painted some value in the alpha channel of the vertex Color, but it is lost after Exported using the addon, while the RGB channel is kept. but the default Exporter can deal with it correctly.
Hope it can be fixed soon, cause Vertex Color is useful in Game Graphic.

Would you send me the issued file? So I can address the bug. Thank you.
This FBX importer does a much better job importing armatures from Maya-exported FBX files, the main reason I needed it for, but unfortunately it doesn't translate hard/soft edges as well as the default importer. Having to redo these by hand after import is quite time-consuming. Any chance this could be fixed in the future?
I still haven't tested the export

When importing, please set the 'Normal' option to 'Import', the original hard/soft normals will be reserved, I'll add the question to FAQ, for many customers have encountered the problem.
Works incredibly on some models, but there's some models I've encountered where they simply won't import using this addon, while the console just outputs "Running fbx to txt ..." and then stops...while the built in fbx importer works (albeit not that well for armatures). Really nice when it does work, but unfortunately not a complete bandaid for fbx troubles in blender
